The Lived Experience Trans Lives

Existence is Resistance: Our Joy is a Weapon.

And when we shine, we light the path for others.

It’s easy to feel crushed under the weight of everything right now, to feel hopeless and drained – the cruelty, the media lies, the political ‘debates’ about trans existence, the endless tide of dehumanisation.

It’s exhausting.

And sometimes, it feels like the only option is to disappear, to run away, to go quiet, to protect ourselves in whatever way we can.

And if that’s what you need to do, never feel bad about that.

However – for those of us who can still stand tall, who have the privilege, safety, or support to stay visible … we must.

Not because we owe it to the world, but because we owe it to each other.

Every moment of trans joy, every smile shared, every selfie taken, every piece of art created, every story told, every mundane or magical detail of our lives – these are acts of defiance & resistance. Because the world says we shouldn’t have this joy.

Our humanity is not up for debate. But when systems try to erase it, our visibility and resilience becomes a lifeline – not just for us, but for the kid scrolling late at night wondering if there’s a future. For the closeted elder trans person who never thought they’d see people like them celebrated. For others who are too tired to post, too scared to speak, or in unsafe situations.

Posting positive things, celebrating our journeys and milestone – these things are not a distraction.

It’s a declaration: We’re still here. We’re still human. We’re still us.

So, post your car builds (Looking at myself there!).

Share your selfies.

Celebrate your weird hobbies and your quiet victories.

Be loud about your love.

Be yourself in public.

Take up space, smile in the face of hatred and ignorance, if you can.

You don’t need to be perfect. Just be real. Just be you.

Because existence is resistance.
And when we shine, we light the path for others.

Everything we do: life coaching, support, advocacy ETC, is offered free. But a few kind people have asked how they can support the work, so this is a way to do that if you’d like to. What we’re building here will need funding down the line.
